Walter Andersen Nursery Wins 2006 Pat Welsh Award

Walter Andersen Nursery was the winner of a new award for its display at the 2006 San Diego County Fair. The Pat Welsh Award was presented to the nursery for its display, 'Believe', in which a little boy living in a black and white world spies a magical fairy village that is alive with color. The Pat Welsh Award recognizes the importance of inspiring children's imaginations.

All the fairy accessories used in the display were specially made by local artist Suja Pritchard. All pieces from this award winning exhibit are now available for sale at the Poway location. Pritchard will teach a class at the Poway store on Sept. 16. You may reserve a spot at the class by calling 858-513-4900 and learn how to make a coil terra cotta pot. Walter Andersen Nursery will provide each participant with a houseplant for their pot. There is a $20 materials fee per participant.
