Walter Andersen Nursery cleared to sell citrus trees

Effective November 6, Walter Andersen Nursery has been cleared to finally begin selling citrus trees. On November 5, all the citrus in stock at both stores was sprayed per California Dept. of Agriculture guidelines and certrifed as treated for Asian citrus psyllid. Untreated Citrus trees had been unavailable for sale throughout most of the county due to the discovery of Asian citrus psyllid. The Asian citrus psyllid is an aphid-like insect that feeds on the leaves of citrus trees and other citrus-like plants. It can be a carrier of the fatal citrus disease, Huanglongbing, also known as HLB and citrus greening disease.

Please bear in mind that even treated citrus must not be moved outside of the quarantine area.
